Chachagua Rainforest Hotel

Welcome to our home, the Chachagua Rainforest Hotel. More than a home away from home, Chachagua Rainforest Hotel offers guests access to all the bustling activities of the Arenal/Fortuna region while providing a safe serene haven for rest, relaxation and nature exploration. Over 10 years ago, Sunny Land Tours and several Costa Rican partners, interested in eco-tourism built the Chachagua Rainforest Hotel. Today, Chachagua provides economic support to the surrounding community by using only local materials, providing employment to area residents and by protecting Chachagua's private rainforest reserve teeming with wildlife. The Technological Institute of San Carlos, a local university specializing in agriculture, asked for Chachagua's help to create an agri-tourism curriculum for their university. Since Chachagua Rainforest offers an abundance of cattle, horses, fruit trees and vegetables, students from the local university work hands on at Chachagua to develop and harvest these locally produced goods in order to self sustain Chachagua's hotel and its guests. Beef, poultry, eggs, milk and cheeses are produced at Chachagua and visitors are welcome to participate in the daily harvest or fish in our tilapia pond. What is important is that our guests have gained a unique and authentic perspective of Costa Rican life. A responsible rainforest real estate project has also been developed for those guests who wish to return and for those who may never want to leave. Here in our home, we can offer our clients the most special rainforest experience with an outstanding level of service and fresh delicious home cooked meals. Real life "cowboys" will help you explore the Pizotes Trail, the Waterfall Trail and our butterfly garden, and later you can rejuvenate yourself in our new spring-fed swimming pool. Built on a 90 Hectares farm and primary rainforest 20 minutes away from the active Arenal Volcano, The Chachagua Rainforest Hotel. 1st Day Chachagua
Today you will be picked up from your Hotel for the private 3-hour transfer towards the Arenal heartland. Sit back and relax as we head for Chachagua. Driving west through the scenic slopes of San Ramon (famous for its delicious cheeses) and San Carlos we approach the picturesque town of La Fortuna where you will get your first full view of this majestic volcano and, as the clouds lift, its awe inspiring perfect cone. A stunning welcome of exuberant flora paves the way for check in at Chachagua. Settle in to your lovely private cabin, dinner and overnight. Meals D.

2nd Day Tabacon Hot Mineral Springs & Arenal Volcano
Enjoy an early morning self-guided walk through Chachagua's private rain forest, rich in tropical flora, fauna and wildlife. (Optoinal half day morning on the Penas Blancas River for a safari float adventure $65, reserved in advance). Later this afternoon, enjoy the thermal hot springs against the backdrop of active Arenal during our Volcano and Tabacon Hot Mineral Springs Tour. Thermal hot mineral springs feed Tabacon’s amazing weave of pools, gardens and waterfalls. Keep both ears open for the loud unpredictable rumbling giant while you enjoy dinner. Return to Chachagua for overnight. Meals BLD

3rd Day Chachagua/San Jose
